"So please, oh please, we beg, we pray, go throw your TV set away, and in its place you can install a lovely bookshelf on the wall." – Ronald Dahl

From a young age, I have always been an avid reader. I have always enjoyed the thrill of completely forgetting the world around me as I dived deeper into someone else's world, feeling their pain and joy, rooting for them, immersing myself into the essence of their being even though they do not exist or neither are they real. I always wondered what inspired some of the greatest authors to write, create, stories- a new reality of some of the most incredible people I have ever heard of. The first book I remember reading and thoroughly enjoying (outside sunrise readers lol) was a book by Enid Blyton, she told a story of girls in a boarding school, their mischief, their struggles and I remember wrapping myself into their boarding school, I envisioned myself there and I enjoyed the thrill of reading the well put together pieces. That's when my love for books and reading was birthed and throughout the years I have lived many lives and experienced different stories through reading, I have laughed, I have cried, I have been happy, I have been sad, books tend to do that to you, they awaken all these emotions in you for people you don't know (actually people that don't exist lol)
With this blog, I plan to take you guys on a journey of some of the books I have read or loved, books that have presented me with moral dilemmas, books that explored controversial themes and some of the most beautiful stories ever written, bring you my perspective, share my thoughts and hopefully have conversations with you about your opinions on some of these books. I plan to particularly focus on African Literature but I am also going to feature other genres provided the books are compelling or interesting enough!
